Last night at San Diego Comic Con I attended a Platinum Games fan party for Bayonetta. I was invited to the event by SEGA. Both the Platinum Games and SEGA staff were gracious and wonderful hosts. The event was held at the Hard Rock Hotel across the street from the convention center; where snacks and an open bar were provided.
Bayonetta is the spiritual successor to Devil May Cry featuring a modern day witch who wields four guns, and various other weapons. The game is beautiful and the combat is stylish. Both short and long melee combos can are finished with big attacks. Additionally you can stop your combos at any point and come out shooting by merely holding down the last button you pressed. Additionally, many of Bayonetta's S&M inspired attacks are dripping with fanservice.
I am saddened at the recent announcement of the release being pushed back to January 2010. While the game is more than worth the wait, the previous release date was perfectly timed for this game to be a wonderful Halloween treat.
If playing this great game, meeting the developers, and having snacks and booze weren't enough, prizes and swag were also available. A score attack tournament was held to win signed concept art and a motion capture prop of one of Bayonetta's guns. Also, a one of a kind Bayonetta skinned Xbox 360 was raffled off. Finally, shirts and signed prints were also given out so nobody left empty handed. The gorgeous E3 booth model was also in attendance.
Thank you. It looks like your talent is opposite mine. You can draw, but you say you can't paint. I can paint, but I can not draw.
However, if you are interested in miniature painting specifically, I reccommend checking out the Hot Lead miniature painting tutorial DVD set. I found it to be very helpful.
